Mark Sherry

Mark Sherry is an Australian writer and composer. His first musical, “Dating is Dangerous”, was staged in 1997. In the 1980s and 1990s, he contributed original songs or music, or was Musical Director, for a number of Brisbane Theatre companies including the Brisbane Arts Theatre, Centenary Players, Beenleigh Theatre Group, and others. He composed music and lyrics for the late Pam Byde’s adaptation of “Five Children and It” – a show originally written by E. Nesbit.
After receiving his Ph.D, Mark took an extended break from the theatre while he established himself as an academic. He became a Professor in the US, wrote four books, edited another book, and was founding editor of the Routledge Interdisciplinary Disability Studies series.
"Secrets: Love, Loyalty and Crime" is his second full musical, and his first since retiring from academia.
